Sound familiar?

More than six apps to make one video, and not one of them tells you if it's worth making.

Apple Notes Notion Google Docs ClickUp Google Drive Frame.io Messaging Apps StudioForge

Ideas in Apple Notes. Thumbnail screenshots texted to a friend who replies “I like both.” A Notion board with half your video ideas and a production plan you stopped updating months ago. Scripts in Google Docs. Drafts in Frame.io. Feedback in four different threads.

So you make the call yourself at 1am, film for twenty hours, and find out nobody cared eight days after publishing — far too late to change it.

I was just guessing on which thumbnail would perform best based off how it looked in Canva. I was texting friends one by one for feedback, which made it annoying when trying to gather all their responses.

StudioForge does two things about that.

It puts the whole video in one place — idea, packaging, script, board, draft, feedback. And it changes the order you do it in, so the first thing you settle is the thing viewers actually respond to. You stop guessing at the packaging and start filming with proof that people will click.

How it works

The title and thumbnail kick off your project.

Settle the click first, and everything downstream has something to aim at.

Make the packaging first

Start a video with a title, then add as many alternates as you want to weigh up — different wording, tone, angle. Drop your thumbnail options in beside them.

Every combination renders inside a simulated YouTube feed, surrounded by the videos a viewer would be choosing between. A thumbnail that looks great full-screen in Canva is a different object at feed size.

Put it in front of people

Send one poll link to your Discord, your community tab, your group chat, your editor — whoever's opinion you'd actually act on. They pick between your combinations and you see what came back, in one place instead of six threads.

It's evidence, not a verdict. StudioForge shows you the votes and leaves the call to you.

Now go make the video that pays it off

You know what people clicked, so you know what the video has to deliver. Write the script in a doc, map the structure on a canvas, move it across the production board, upload the cut and collect timestamped comments.

Same workspace, same video, driven by the packaging you validated.

Twenty hours of filming, spent on a video you already know people will click.

After the vote

The promise you validated becomes the brief for everything else.

Script, structure, edit, feedback — all attached to the video they belong to, all aimed at the click you already proved.

Documents & canvases

Scripts, hooks, outlines, notes. Written docs and an open canvas, attached to the video they belong to.

Production board

Move videos from idea through scripting, production, scheduled, published — so nothing gets lost between the spark and the upload.

Draft review

Upload a rough cut and get comments pinned to the exact second they refer to — and judge the edit against the packaging that won the vote, not against a vague memory of it.

Channel strategy

A separate space for the thinking that isn't about one video — direction, positioning, the shape of the next quarter.

Collaborators

Invite multiple collaborators to your channel with a link. Editors, thumbnail designers, clients.

I had a messy mix of Google Docs for video ideas on ClickUp task cards and Google Drive for sharing thumbnails, but not really one single place for all of those assets to live in one spot.

Why it's built backwards

Every other tool hands you someone else's video first.

Research tools open empty. You arrive with nothing, the outlier database tells you what's working, and you make a well-optimised version of a video that already exists. Four months of that and you've become a full-time researcher who barely publishes.

StudioForge can't work that way. The product doesn't start until you've made something.

Same information the other tools give you. Opposite point in the sequence. Very different creator at the end of it.

Keep your research tab open — we're not trying to replace it. We're the thing you open when you're actually producing.

I can dump everything — thumbnails, titles, scripts, descriptions, notes, drafts, and feedback polls — into one spot. Basically it takes my video from an idea to a finished product.

Straight answers

Things StudioForge doesn't do

  • It doesn't make your thumbnails. Make them wherever you already make them — Canva, Photoshop, a designer — and bring them in. StudioForge tells you which one to use, not how to draw it.
  • It doesn't report your analytics. No CTR, no views, no retention. Everything here happens before publish. Your analytics tools are still your analytics tools.
  • It won't write your titles for you. You bring the idea. We help you pressure-test it.

Questions

Before you start the trial

Do I need to make my thumbnails somewhere else?
Yes. StudioForge doesn't create images. Make them however you already do, then upload your options here to test them. Rough ones are fine — a scrappy version tested early beats a polished one tested never.
Who do I send the poll to?
Whoever you want. Collaborators, your Discord, your community tab, your Instagram, a group chat. It's a link.
Is this a research tool?
No. There's no database of other people's videos in here. If you want outlier research, use a research tool; plenty of our customers do. This is where you go once you have something of your own to work on.
Can I use it with a team?
Yes — invite up to three collaborators to your channel with a link.
Do I need a card for the trial?
Yes, Stripe takes it up front. Seven days free, cancel any time before day seven and you're not charged.
